HJD Construction's history spans 115 years ago when DiGirolamo Construction Company was established in Newark, New Jersey, 1901.  Family owned and operated and in its 5th generation of DiGirolamo leadership, HJD Construction's reputation is built on a foundation of quality of service, hard work, and responsiveness to client needs.  In 1986, after DiGirolamo Construction's 85th year in the construction industry, Henry DiGirolamo was chosen as president making him the youngest to lead the company.  Subsequently, his direction began the most prosperous era the company had ever witnessed.

A past literally built brick by brick, HJD's origins are witnessed in the masonry work on numerous historical churches, cathedrals, government buildings and homes throughout New Jersey and New York. Since 1968, DiGirolamo Construction and HJD Construction have built 99 buildings, over 20 million square feet of warehouse and office space, and were the in-house contractor for Bristol Meyers and Engelhard Industries for two decades.
